Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations to lead PittNet and related services across campus and regional campuses, overseeing network, compute, storage, and data center operations.

You will manage three Assistant Directors, drive change management and incident response, and own the service budget and vendor relationships to ensure reliable, scalable IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Seven years progressively responsible experience IT infrastructure operations.
• Experience leading a large IT operations organization with multi-service production portfolio.
• Experience with formal change management & incident management processes in production.
• Experience owning a service budget and vendor relationships, including capacity and lifecycle planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee network architecture, engineering, and security enforcement; LAN/WAN, wireless, VoIP operations, firewalls, DNS.
• Direct systems engineering for compute and data, including VMware, storage, backups, cloud, and monitoring.
• Lead On-premise field & cable plant operations and service delivery; manage senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
