Job summary

Pitt Community College seeks an experienced IT professional to serve as Assistant Director of Network Services, overseeing wired/wireless networks, telephony, and security systems. The role requires 3+ years in network administration, strong leadership, and collaboration with IT leadership to plan upgrades and incident response.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration.
• Strong knowledge of wired/wireless networks, telephony, and network security.
• Familiarity with PCI, GLBA, CIS Controls IG 1, NIST, and HIPAA.
• Proven ability to mentor technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and maintenance of wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain telephony systems and related infrastructure.
• Ensure the security of network infrastructure, including next-generation firewalls.
• Maintain compliance with information security standards (PCI, GLBA, CIS Controls IG 1, NIST, HIPAA).
• Supervise, mentor, and provide professional development for network services staff.
• Collaborate with IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve network issues while improving performance.
• Develop and implement network policies and procedures to enhance reliability and security.
• Contribute to Business Continuity and Incident Response planning.
• Monitor network performance, respond to incidents, and mitigate risks.
• Lead planning and implementation of network projects and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure and processes.
