Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree minimum.
• 12+ years of post-education experience in quantum computing, advanced computing, semiconductor systems, electronics, cryogenics, hardware engineering, technical strategy, product leadership, or government program development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a U.S.-focused quantum hardware strategy informed by federal priorities, product plans, hardware roadmaps, and acquisition pathways.
• Translate enterprise priorities into a portfolio of hardware engagements with clear technical hypotheses and milestones.
• Prioritize opportunities across DOE, NIST, DoD, and other federal organizations to diversify the portfolio.
• Establish portfolio KPIs covering hardware performance, reliability, and deployment progress.
• Coordinate with product and technical leaders to align federal requirements and investment priorities.
• Provide regular portfolio recommendations to senior leadership on actions to advance or adjust initiatives.
• Map priority hardware gaps to capabilities across DOE and DoD labs, national laboratories, and partner ecosystems.
• Lead engagements with government technical leaders, program offices, and research laboratories.
• Shape joint hardware programs covering processor architecture, qubit modalities, control systems, cryogenics, packaging, and integration.
• Develop joint technical scopes, hardware requirements, interface definitions, and transition pathways.
