Job summary

Marqeta, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Corporate FP&A to lead planning, forecasting, and operating expense. You will inherit a small, dedicated team and elevate processes through data automation, AI tooling, and strategic partnering with the CFO and executive team.

The role emphasizes building a modern FP&A function, driving end-to-end opex management, and delivering clear financial narratives for board materials and investor analysis. Oakland preference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Math or similar.
• 15+ years FP&A experience at scaled companies, including public-company experience.
• 7+ years leading FP&A teams and developing analysts.
• Strong opex and headcount management expertise.
• GAAP fluency including stock-based compensation.
• AI/automation experience in FP&A is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual operating plan, long-range plan, quarterly forecasts, monthly close commentary, and board materials.
• Own end-to-end opex including headcount, vendor spend, T&E, capex, and cost structure.
• Architect data flows from source systems to Sigma and AI tooling for the executive view.
• Partner with CFO, executive team, and functional leaders to drive investment decisions.
• Mentor and develop FP&A team to scale with the business.
