Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the income statement for a multi-specialty medical group with both risk and fee-for-service operations and advise leadership on opportunities to create additional value
- Research and understand business operations to identify revenue enhancement and cost-cutting initiatives
- Lead, track and follow-up with senior leaders on efficiency initiatives
- Manage and delegate assignments across multiple processes, workstreams, projects and teams simultaneously and effectively influencing a positive working environment
- Oversee the improvement of operational and G&A management reporting on a detailed and segmented basis to ensure cost tracking and containment with senior leaders
- Partner with operational senior leaders to assist in setting statistical metrics to enhance awareness of operational performance and decisions around FTE management
- Lead the month-end close and variance analysis process and report to senior management the financial performance and prospective consequences
- Manage and continue to streamline the budgeting and forecasting process
- Collaborate with health plan leadership to ensure amiable relationships and tight alignment in forecasting assumptions and intercompany arrangements
- Develop cost / benefit analyses and staffing needs for key strategies or initiatives
- Anticipate emerging trends and consumer needs with the intent to develop tactical approaches to capitalize on or mitigate
- Participate and develop company-wide business plan and strategies
- Create and manage ad hoc requests and reporting from business and regional leadership

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 8+ years of progressive professional experience in finance and/or accounting
- Leadership experience with the ability to develop others and create a positive team-based work environment
- Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft experience
- Proven executive presence with solid communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders (ability to translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences)
- Proven solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to effectively support / train and perform finance and accounting transactions
Preferred Qualification
- CPA license or MBA

The salary range for this role is $150,200 to $288,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
