Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP in Washington, DC is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the firm’s facilities and safety programs, develop policies, and ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness across offices.

You will supervise the operations department, manage budgets, coordinate with HR for performance and safety, oversee renovations, vendor relations, and emergency preparedness, while reporting to the COO.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years of facilities management experience, with at least ten as head of this function in a large multi-office organization.
• Strong analytic, financial analysis, decision-making, team leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Keen eye for detail and meticulous follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Directs overall management of facilities and safety requirements, including programs, policies and procedures.
• Monitors and manages the Facilities and Operations Department and outsourced vendors.
• Develops and maintains office policies related to facilities management and services.
• Leads building safety and OSHA compliance and partners with HR for execution.
• Oversees construction/renovation projects, bids, quotes and vendor management.
• Acts as liaison with vendors, landlords, and building management on facility-related matters.
