Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Sr. Manager of External Training Services to lead and grow the department. The role drives development, promotion, sales, and delivery of high-quality training for current and prospective clients.

Requires prior experience delivering technical training to external customers in electrical-related industries. You will oversee business development, training program management, and SME collaboration, ensuring profitable operations and scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in a safety or training role with an electrical background
• Knowledge of training program planning and delivery
• Understanding of electrical codes, equipment operation, and safety regulations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• P&L management experience
• Strong project planning, resource management, and implementation skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic three-year roadmap and growth plan for the department.
• Partner with Workforce Development Team to leverage NETA training capabilities.
• Expand business with existing clients and generate new opportunities with Sales and Business Development teams.
• Address clients’ technical questions or engage SME as needed.
• Represent the company at industry events and professional associations.
• Monitor, forecast, and manage the department’s profit-and-loss performance.
• Lead and scale the external training team in response to market demand.
• Provide oversight for all external training initiatives.
• Direct and support design, development, writing, and editing of course materials and docs.
• Serve as a training instructor and deliver content when required.
• Collaborate with SMEs and instructors to develop training on electrical safety, equipment, NETA standards, and motor reliability.
• Manage inventory and logistics for training materials and resources.
• Recruit and manage qualified training instructors to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Conduct training needs analyses to identify program improvements.
• Stay current on industry standards and regulations and update programs accordingly.
• Collaborate with Quality, Safety, and Workforce Development to align training with company objectives.
• Possess a post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 5+ years in safety/training with electrical background.
• Demonstrated knowledge of training planning and delivery.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Excellent MS Office proficiency; Access and Visio are assets.
• Strong knowledge of regulations and best practices.
