Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an accomplished Accounting Operations Leader to oversee all accounting functions, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and lead a high-performing team. The role focuses on strategic financial planning, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and cross-department collaboration to support healthcare operations.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 7 years in a management or executive leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement accounting strategies, policies and procedures.
• Oversee all accounting operations including GL, cash accounting, analytics, investments, grants and endowments, payables/receivables, payroll and fixed assets.
• Oversee GAAP-based monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports and reconciliations.
• Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
• Lead external audits and liaise with auditors.
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements for efficiency.
