Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to lead enterprise project controls for a large, complex portfolio across municipal, industrial, and federal clients. The role focuses on governance, systems, analytics, and talent to deliver projects safely, profitably, and predictably.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in integrated design-build and alternative delivery in the water sector and will drive modernization of platforms, workflows, reporting, automation, and AI-enabled

Qualifications

Led project controls for large, complex portfolios or enterprise programs.
Experience with integrated design-build or alternative delivery in water/municipal sectors.
Proven track record in digital transformation and analytics across platforms.
Deep knowledge of cost engineering, scheduling, forecasting, EVMS, risk, and commercial controls.
Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into executive insights.
Ability to influence change across a matrixed organization.
Experience developing talent and high-performing teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Define enterprise project controls strategy, standards, and governance across units.
Establish controls for design-build, CMAR, and integrated delivery models.
Strengthen budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, variance analysis, and change management.
Provide dashboards and insights on margin, backlog, cash flow, and risk.
Lead modernization of controls platforms, data, and workflows with AI-enabled forecasting.
Set standards for document management and data quality.
Collaborate with executives and delivery teams to improve outcomes.
Develop schedulers, cost controllers, and document control professionals.
