Job Summary

The Senior Director – Operations Dedicated is responsible for leading and managing dedicated account operations during all business hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. This role ensures seamless communication and execution across shifts while maintaining service excellence, driver support, and proactive issue resolution. The Senior Director oversees all operations team members and partners with on-site customer leadership to maintain continuity, address challenges, and meet customer expectations.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Lead and support operations staff across multiple shifts
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development to direct reports
  • Cultivate a high-performing team that prioritizes safety, responsiveness, communication, and reliability
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison with customer leadership, fostering a collaborative, trust-based partnership focused on service excellence, continuous improvement, and long-term account growth
  • Lead regular business reviews with customer stakeholders to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, resolve challenges, and align on strategic objectives
  • Build and sustain a culture of transparency, accountability, trust, and mutual respect among associates, drivers, operations teams, and customer partners
  • Monitor and optimize fleet utilization, capacity planning, route efficiency, labor productivity, and asset deployment to maximize profitability and service performance
  • Establish and drive accountability for key operational metrics including utilization, service execution, on-time performance, detention, dwell time, driver retention, and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accountability for account financial performance, including revenue, operating expenses, labor management, productivity, and profitability targets
  • Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives while maintaining safety, service quality, and customer expectations
  • Oversee operations for 200+ truck dedicated account, ensuring service continuity and efficient execution
  • Serve as an escalation point for operational challenges, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication
  • Monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery, driver satisfaction, and load efficiency
  • Collaborate with Account Management, Driver Management, and Planning team members to align all operations with account requirements
  • Develop and refine SOPs and escalation protocols specific to dedicated freight operations
  • Proactively identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase efficiency and service levels
  • Ensure coordination between day and night‑shift teams to ensure smooth handoffs, knowledge sharing, and consistent execution
  • Lead regular reviews and debriefs to evaluate extended operations performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and customer contractual requirements
  • Manage staffing, shift coverage, and resource planning to maintain 24/7 operational support
Work Environment

On‑Site at customer account

Travel Required

Occasional, based on operational or account needs

Schedule

Full‑time, with availability to support extended shifts, nights, and weekends as needed

Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, or related field highly preferred
  • 8+ years of transportation or logistics experience, including leadership within dedicated fleet operations
  • Proven track record managing 24/7 teams in a fast‑paced logistics environment
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and customer relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems and data analytics
