Job summary

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. seeks a Senior Director of Data and AI Engineering to define and execute data and AI strategies across the R&D value chain.

You will lead a team of data engineers, AI/MLOps specialists, and support staff to deliver compliant, scalable data foundations and Gen AI solutions. You will bridge scientific ambition with technical execution, drive governance, and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver enterprise data and analytic products across

Qualifications

• 12+ years of leadership in data engineering, AI/ML, and Gen AI.
• Strong track record building large-scale data and AI solutions in regulated environments.
• Pharma/biotech R&D experience desirable.
• Expertise with real-world data and clinical data integration.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy and roadmap for data, AI, and Gen AI across R&D.
• Lead design, development, and deployment of scalable data pipelines and AI apps.
• Oversee MLOps, model lifecycle, and governance for AI solutions.
• Collaborate with Legal/Compliance to ensure privacy and regulatory alignment.
• Mentor teams and manage resources, timelines, and budget.
