Job summary

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd is seeking an Associate Director, AI and Data Scientist to lead hands-on AI initiatives across Pharma R&D and corporate functions. You will define AI product strategy, develop and fine-tune AI/ML models, and guide cross-functional teams including IT and data engineers.

The role emphasizes responsible AI, data privacy, and regulatory compliance while advancing AI transformations in drug development and business processes.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, CS, Physics, Statistics, IS, or related field; PhD preferred.
• Expertise with real-world data assets to guide operational efficiency.
• Deep expertise in data engineering, Gen AI, ML techniques, and delivering AI/ML use cases.
• Experience with AI enabling technology like Dataiku, Snowflake, AWS SageMaker.
• Understanding of SDLC and data science lifecycle; awareness of GxP validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI product strategy and roadmaps for AI-driven solutions.
• Experiment with and train high-quality AI/ML models for business problems.
• Lead PoC initiatives and deploy enterprise AI systems.
• Use KPIs and data analytics to monitor product performance and value.
• Provide technical guidance on AI ecosystem, platforms, and architecture.
