Job summary

QinetiQ US (formerly Avantus Federal) is seeking a Sr. Director of Profit & Loss to lead and grow the Counter Threat Portfolio, owning full P&L and driving revenue, profitability, and program performance across government programs.

This executive role combines hands-on program execution with customer engagement, business development, and capture strategy, balancing mature contracts with cutting-edge research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Military Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• TS/SCI clearance (must be able to obtain or possess).
• Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience managing defense/homeland security portfolios.
• Proven track record managing a $50M+ government services portfolio with direct P&L accountability.
• Experience with the U.S. Army, CENTCOM, and DHS, and large federal contracts capture/execution.
• Strong executive leadership in complex government contracting environments.
• Travel 40–50% if not local.

Responsibilities

• Own full P&L for the Counter Threat portfolio and drive revenue, profitability, forecasting, budgeting, and operational performance.
• Develop and execute a strategic growth plan within the counter-threat market.
• Lead programs focused on counter-UAS, force protection, border security, ISR and related areas.
• Build executive relationships with customers across US Army, DHS, CENTCOM and allied governments.
• Oversee capture and execution of new opportunities with Business Development.
• Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and policies.
