Job summary

RLI Corp is seeking a highly experienced attorney to manage coverage and bad faith litigation nationwide. You will provide regulatory and policy language input, advising the Claim Department on coverage issues and litigation strategy. Collaboration with outside counsel and ongoing training of the Claim Department are integral to this role.

The position requires a J.D. and at least eight years in practice, with experience across commercial general liability and first-party property policies

Qualifications

• J.D. required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience practicing law.
• Experience handling coverage and bad faith litigation under CGL and/or first-party property policies.
• Experience with multiple US jurisdictions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage coverage and bad faith litigation nationwide for the company.
• Provide legal advice to the Claim Department on coverage issues and documentation.
• Oversee outside coverage counsel, review filings and discovery responses.
• Develop policy language and contribute to product development.
