RLI Insurance Company is seeking an experienced professional to manage high-exposure general liability and complex claims across the United States, with a focus on strategic resolution and collaboration with underwriting. The role requires strong analytic and litigation-management capabilities and offers a hybrid work arrangement.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of related experience, and a JD with insurance or defense litigation background is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant legal or insurance experience.
• JD with insurance coverage or defense litigation experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-exposure general liability claims nationwide (excl. NY).
• Oversee all aspects of claim-handling, including investigation and defense coordination.
• Evaluate claims and set resolution strategies, including mediations/trials.
• Direct defense counsel on litigated cases.
• Collaborate with Underwriting on trends and developments impacting products.
• Lead special projects and other duties as needed.
• Occasional travel for mediations and trials.
