You will lead all aspects of claim handling, including investigations, coverage analysis, and litigation management, while collaborating with underwriting on trends.

The role emphasizes strategic resolution, leadership in special projects, and occasional travel for mediations and trials.

Qualifications

• Meaningful experience handling general liability claims involving bodily injury and property damage across multiple jurisdictions in the United States.
• Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures affecting claim value.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-exposure, complex bodily injury and property damage claims across the United States (excluding New York).
• Responsible for all aspects of claim-handling, including fact investigation, coverage analysis, injury/damages evaluation, and litigation management.
• Evaluate claims and set case resolution strategies, including independent handling of mediations and trials in complex claims.
• Develop and implement claim resolution strategies and identify claims where trial is appropriate.
• Select, retain, and direct appropriate defense counsel on litigated cases.
• Collaborate with Underwriting on industry trends or case law/statutory developments that may impact product lines.
• Lead in special projects and other duties as needed.
• Occasional travel for mediations and trial as necessary.
