Job summary

U.S. Coast Guard Community Services Command is seeking a dedicated CDC Director for Base Kodiak, AK. You will lead a large CDC with 100+ children and 28 staff, ensuring high-quality child development services and compliance with applicable laws and policies.

You will manage program operations, safety, and staff supervision, working under agency guidance and coordinating with HQ HSWL. This full-time role offers significant responsibility and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience managing an entire cycle of an early childhood program including budgeting, facilities, and staff supervision.
• Current certification in first aid and CPR is required.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to drive are required.
• Must pass Tier 1 background checks and periodic rechecks.

Responsibilities

• Directs the U.S. Coast Guard CDC at Base Kodiak and oversees child development services.
• Oversees infant through after-school care and family childcare programs.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state accreditation and local regulations.
• Interprets program developments and balances resources with safety and quality.
• Maintains health and safety standards and coordinates with program policy guidance.
