Job summary

USCG Base Cape Cod MWR Kodiak, AK seeks a dedicated Child Care Assistant for the Child Development Center. You will help plan and execute early childhood education activities, support staff, and promote a safe, positive environment for children and youth.

The role is full-time (30-40 hours/week) with pay of $18.38/hour plus DOE. Must meet minimum qualifications and be able to pass background checks and health clearances; includes opportunities for growth and access to Coast Guard benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• One year of general experience working with children or youth in a group setting.

Responsibilities

• Plans and executes age-appropriate early childhood education experiences.
• Works with director and teachers to develop curriculum and activities.
• Monitors children in classroom, playground, and other areas; ensures safety and well-being.
• Maintains daily participation data and required reports.
