Job summary

U.S. Coast Guard Community Services Command in Kodiak, AK seeks a Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Youth Services) to lead the Youth Center, ensure safe, engaging programs, and manage budgets and staff.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications within 6 months of employment.
• Child protective background clearance required after hire.
• 2+ years in youth programs with supervisory experience.
• Experience using social media platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Directs Youth Center operations to provide a safe, healthy, engaging environment.
• Establishes budgets and manages funds, including grants and APF/NAF.
• Plans and coordinates year-round youth sports, recreation, and education programs.
• Leads coordination of Boys and Girls Club of America programs (Keystone, Torch Club, Military Youth of the Year).
• Supervises staff and volunteers, conducts training, and manages performance.
