The Coast Guard Exchange in Kodiak seeks a Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Youth Services) to lead the Youth Center program, ensuring a safe, engaging environment and high‑quality services for youth. The role supervises staff and volunteers, manages budgets, and coordinates year‑round activities with community partners.

Responsibilities include leading BGCA programming, planning events, and ensuring compliance with policies. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Experience with youth programs and supervisory roles.
• Proficiency with social media platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Direct Youth Center operations to ensure safety, quality, and a positive environment for youth programs.
• Plan, organize, and manage budgets and funds (APF/NAF/grants).
• Coordinate year-round youth sports, recreation, social, and educational activities.
• Lead Boys & Girls Clubs of America programming (Keystone, Torch Club, Military Youth of the Year).
• Supervise staff and volunteers; conduct performance reviews and training.
