Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Director for the Child Development Center (CDC) to administer a large, developmentally appropriate early childhood program for eligible patrons. The role oversees 200+ children, full-time services for ages 6 weeks to 12 years, emergency and special needs care, and extensive staff training and parent education.

Responsibilities include program management, budgeting, personnel supervision, SOP development, and ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

• 4 years of full-time experience working with children and/or youth.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs.
• Knowledge of DoD and DON regulations pertaining to military child care.
• Knowledge of Federal and State laws governing child abuse/neglect.
• Ability to supervise staff and provide positive personnel management.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CDC developmental programming and ensure safety and development across age groups.
• Develop and oversee budgets, funding requests, and facilities maintenance.
• Manage personnel actions, training, performance, and compliance with policies.
• Develop SOPs and establish a Parent Involvement Board; create staff/parent handbooks.
• Ensure compliance with DoD/DoN/NAEYC and CACFP nutrition standards.
