Job summary

Northwestern Mutual seeks a senior Change Management leader to guide and align large-scale, cross-functional change initiatives across the enterprise. You will develop teams, apply structured change methodologies, and influence stakeholders to ensure people, process, and technology changes deliver strategic outcomes.

The role requires a decade of experience in change management, certification, and a proven ability to translate business strategy into actionable plans while fostering collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with increasing levels of responsibility; including experience leading large, complex change management efforts.
• Experience creating and implementing change management frameworks, methodologies and tools.
• Experience managing large-scale change efforts.
• Ability to present recommendations aligned to business strategy and to challenge conventional practices.
• Systems view to bring organization design, people effectiveness and change enablement to drive integration and transformation.
• Strategic mindset with execution capability.
• Exceptional influencing and relationship skills across organizational levels.
• Analytical problem-solving to derive insights and diagnose root causes.
• Ability to collaborate with business leaders to develop, implement, and sustain change interventions.
• Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases.
• Change Management certification (Prosci or similar).

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature a team of change management professionals; foster trust, engagement, and inclusion.
• Apply NM change methodology to deliver the people side of change aligned with business outcomes.
• Analyze people-related risks and mitigation plans; inform senior leaders about impact on change strategy.
• Lead and align large, complex cross-departmental change initiatives across the enterprise.
• Act as a thought leader; develop change plans for execution across major efforts.
• Partner with leadership to design delivery approaches that promote user-centric solutions.
• Implement efficient change management structures to support integrated delivery.
• Build strong relationships with business clients to manage delivery expectations and provide expert consulting.
• Align stakeholders on strategy and drive action to change across the organization.
• Gather and deliver metrics to drive insights and adjust goals; enable end-to-end value delivery.
• Apply extensive business acumen to leverage industry knowledge for change objectives.
• Conduct complex analyses to identify scope of change deliverables.
• Adopt and promote enterprise-wide change processes and language.
• Lead a team of change practitioners to successful outcomes.
