Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) seeks a Director of Underwriting to provide strategic leadership for Doubtless North American insurance carriers. You will establish underwriting philosophy, risk appetite, guidelines, and governance while ensuring regulatory compliance and a profitable portfolio.

You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to shape underwriting strategy, oversee delegated authority, and drive sustainable growth across our insurance

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Science, or a related discipline is required.

Responsabilidades

• Establish, maintain, and evolve carrier underwriting philosophy, risk appetite, guidelines, governance framework, and administrative policies to support sustainable, profitable growth.
• Serve as underwriting authority for guideline exceptions, product approvals, and risk-tolerance decisions across Doubtless North America carriers.
• Analyze underwriting performance and portfolio results, identify emerging risks, and continuously improve guidelines and risk selection.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across the United States and Canada with governance, documentation, and controls.
• Oversee MGA underwriting operations, delegated authority, guideline adherence, and claims process initiatives.
• Develop and monitor underwriting controls, governance processes, and audit programs to strengthen consistency and compliance.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Actuarial, Claims, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and MGA leadership to align strategy with objectives.
• Influence executives, regulators, and stakeholders through credible judgment and communication.
