Job summary
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a Senior Technical Specialist 1 for Construction & Development, Delivery Service Office, located at 2 Broadway. This role covers planning, scheduling, analysis, design, and reporting across capital projects.
You will supervise technical staff, mentor juniors, and coordinate with in-house engineering. A BS in a technical field, 8+ years of related experience, and 2+ years in a leadership role are required, with telework eligibility one day per
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate technical discipline or equivalent.
- Equivalents may be considered.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years in a managerial/supervisory or project manager role.
Responsibilities
- Designs/supervise various aspects of a project for MTA systems and infrastructure.
- Performs technical/feasibility studies using historic data, surveys, reports and as-builts.
- Reviews designs and supervises tests/assessments of equipment, software, and materials.
- Conducts site visits to identify design and delivery risks.
- Plans and coordinates required approval documentation and permits.
- Provides technical field support for system installation and related construction.
- Manages a small team of technical staff.
- Mentors junior staff.
- Adheres to corporate quality control standards.
- Coordinates with in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
