Job summary

Ripple is seeking a Senior Director of Security Engineering to build and lead a security-focused team securing products, infra, and IT systems. You will shape the security strategy, embed guardrails for AI tooling, and protect customers by integrating security across the stack.

The role requires 15+ years in security, leadership experience, and hands-on AI security expertise, with cloud and cryptography proficiency. This is a hybrid NYC-based role.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in security engineering with 5+ years in leadership.
• Hands-on AI security expertise and guardrails for AI agents.
• Expert-level security architecture knowledge across cloud environments.
• Strong cryptography, secure coding, and web/blockchain vulnerability awareness.
• Experience with OAuth, SAML, OIDC and security policy enforcement.
• IT security including IAM, endpoint and network protections.
• Threat modeling and risk identification experience.
• Able to communicate complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
• Track record of building high-performing security teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic vision and roadmap for Security Engineering with AI focus.
• Provide guidance on security risks to senior leadership and partners.
• Define AI agents guardrails, scope, blast radius, and rollback methods.
• Implement SDLC guardrails and oversight for AI-assisted development.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing security engineering team.
• Drive security guidelines across engineering and IT organizations.
• Lead security architecture reviews for new products and infra changes.
• Own vulnerability management and coordinate remediation with engineering.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and IT leadership on security priorities.
