Job summary

Lightspeed seeks a Senior Director of Agentic Engineering to lead the platform, capabilities, and operating model enabling AI agents across Lightspeed’s Product & Technology teams. You will shape multi-year strategy, build reusable platform capabilities, and drive adoption with global impact.

You will partner with executives to ensure security, governance, and cost management while mentoring leaders and creating a high-performing, inclusive engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering leadership.
• Experience building AI-enabled agentic systems and platforms.
• Proven ability to lead distributed, high-performing teams.
• Track record of defining and scaling internal/developer platforms.
• Strong stakeholder communication with executives and cross-functional leaders.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for agentic engineering at Lightspeed.
• Lead teams responsible for shared platform capabilities including agents, workflow orchestration, context access, and integrations.
• Create an extensible platform enabling product, design, engineering, QA, and operations to adopt agentic workflows.
• Partner with Retail, Hospitality, Payments, and platform leaders to scale use cases.
• Establish evaluation systems for agent performance, reliability, security, and cost.
• Embed responsible AI, data protection, and governance into the platform by design.
• Drive adoption and change across a global organization with measurable operating-model impact.
• Own metrics for platform adoption, usage, experience, cycle-time, and business impact.
