Soap Creek Resources in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Digital Hardware to join a cutting-edge DoD sensing technology team. You will design and develop advanced digital hardware, including FPGAs, high-speed interfaces, and multi-layer PCBs, while collaborating with a skilled engineering group.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in VHDL/Verilog, and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of digital hardware design experience.
• Experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
• Proficiency with VHDL and Verilog.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware for next-generation products.
• Design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities.
• Architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on modern Xilinx platforms.
• Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
