Hire Consulting Services in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Digital Hardware to lead the design of advanced digital hardware, FPGA systems, and high-speed interfaces for DoD sensing technology products.

The role requires 5+ years in digital hardware, VHDL/Verilog, PCB design, and hands-on lab work. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and advance secure, cutting-edge solutions while supporting production and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of digital hardware design experience.
• Experience designing analog and digital circuits including FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on lab equipment experience (oscilloscopes, analyzers).
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware.
• Design multi-layer PCBs, schematics, and support layout activities.
• Architect FPGA solutions using VHDL/Verilog on Xilinx platforms.
• Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Design high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, DSP, and communication architectures.
• Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle.
