Job summary

Essenti Talent seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer – Digital Hardware to join a cutting-edge DoD sensing technology manufacturer in the Syracuse area. You will lead digital hardware design, FPGA development, and high-speed interfaces on next-generation products.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, 5+ years' experience, VHDL/Verilog expertise, and U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of digital hardware design experience.
• Experience designing analog and digital circuits including FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of advanced digital hardware for next-generation products.
• Design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities.
• Architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on modern Xilinx platforms.
• Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Design high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, DSP, and communication architectures.
• Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
