Job summary

Connectly Recruiting is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Digital Hardware for a DoD sensing technology manufacturer in the Syracuse, NY area. The role focuses on fast-paced hardware development.

You will design digital hardware, FPGA solutions, multi-layer PCBs, and work with a cross-functional team to bring next-generation products from concept to production. U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain clearance required; candidate will use VHDL/Verilog, Xilinx Vivado, and lab instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of digital hardware design experience.
• Experience designing analog and digital circuits including FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and analyzers.
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware for next-generation products.
• Design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities.
• Architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on modern Xilinx platforms.
• Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Design high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, DSP, and communication architectures.
• Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
