Job summary

Boss Shop is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to perform mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance with a focus on quality and safety. You will diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle systems using J-Pro, FleetCross, and OE software.

The role requires DOT and HVAC certifications, a valid license, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts. Training programs and growth opportunities are available, with comprehensive health and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work cooperatively with team members and deliver excellent customer service.
• Air Brake Certification required.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• ASE certifications preferred; Shop Technician IV must obtain or maintain relevant ASE certifications within one year of promotion.
• Section 609 HVAC certification required for HVAC service.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and tire services, and emergency road service calls.
• Conducts DOT inspections and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Performs service calls, including night and on-call assignments as required.
• Uses J-Pro, FleetCross, and OE software to diagnose and repair vehicle systems.
• Completes work orders with labor, parts, and warranty details.
• Performs engine repairs, cooling, fuel, turbo, and oil system work.
• Diagnoses and repairs emissions, drivetrain, and wheel-end systems.
• Handles air system, valves, ABS, and related components.
• Executes steering, suspension, HVAC, electrical, and HVAC diagnostics and repairs.
• Maintains shop cleanliness and safety, and adheres to OSHA requirements.
• Mentors junior technicians when needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.
