Job summary

Boss Shop is hiring a Shop Diesel Mechanic/Technician to perform timely mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel vehicles. The role offers a structured training program, growth opportunities, and benefits including insurance and 401(k).

Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventive maintenance, tire services, DOT inspections, and on-call service. You will use J-Pro, FleetCross, and OE software and document all work orders accurately.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete TIA tire training.
• Air Brake Certification required.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• ASE certifications preferred; Shop Technician IV must obtain or maintain T2, T4, T5, T6 and T7 within one year of promotion.
• Section 609 HVAC certification required for HVAC service.

Responsibilities

• Perform all preventive maintenance services, tire services, and emergency road service calls.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Perform service calls, including night and on-call assignments.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems using diagnostic platforms (J-Pro, FleetCross, OE software).
• Complete work orders with labor, parts, and warranty data.
• Perform engine, fuel, cooling, and emissions-related repairs and diagnostics.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and safety; ensure tools and vehicles are safe.
