Job summary

Norfolk Truck Center is seeking an Experienced Shop Foreman to lead our diesel truck service team at 736 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA. You will oversee technicians, ensure repairs are performed correctly, safely, and on time, and maintain high customer service standards.

The role requires 3+ years in diesel shop leadership, strong communication, and the ability to manage warranty processes and shop safety. A CDL is a plus in this hands-on leadership position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in diesel truck shop.
• 3+ years in a leadership role or service dispatch role.
• Customer service and leadership qualities.
• Exceptional problem‑solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
• Driver’s License required; CDL a plus.
• Proficient with computers and basic office applications.
• Familiarity with dealership management software (CDK) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures repairs are assigned to technicians according to their competence and shop capacity.
• Understands and ensures compliance with warranty and policy procedures.
• Monitor repair progress and address deviations in completion time.
• Ensure each repair is timely and within budget to satisfy customers.
• Provide technical support for technicians when necessary.
• Monitor shop cleanliness, safety, and equipment condition.
• Maintain open communication with management regarding job status and changes.
• Open the shop prior to technician arrival and be last to leave to ensure all techs have departed.
