Job summary

Ascendance Truck Centers is seeking an experienced, full-time Shop Foreman to lead our service team on the shop floor. This role monitors work activity, collaborates with clients, assists with repairs or tasks on work orders, orders supplies, maintains equipment, and enforces shop policies.

The successful candidate has 3–5 years of diesel mechanic experience with at least one year in fleet and/or management.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Strong leadership, organizational, math, and writing skills.
• 1 year of fleet or dealership experience.
• 1 year of management or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all work is completed efficiently and meets quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with other shifts to manage workflow.
• Keep up-to-date on the latest workplace safety and environmental requirements and enforce all health and safety policies on the shop floor.
• Maintain equipment
• Interview drop off drivers for complete vehicle complaints and document
• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment
• Create job orders, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures
• Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly
• Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk
• Keep abreast of training and factory technical bulletins
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction
