Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA to lead full stack web application development and automation efforts. You will design and implement frontend interfaces and backend capabilities, collaborate with internal users for UI/UX feedback, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery.

The role requires strong experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js/Express, Python, Java, and related frameworks, with on-site work in Cedar Rapids.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
• Experience across software lifecycle from design to certification.
• Proficiency with web frontend frameworks: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Vue, Angular, Next, Nuxt.
• Experience with API frameworks: Node.JS/Express, Python/Flask/FastAPI, Java/Spring.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of new frontend user interfaces.
• Enhance and update existing frontend interfaces.
• Collaborate with internal users to gather UI/UX feedback and drive improvements.
• Lead design and implementation of new backend capabilities.
• Optimize backend capabilities and CI/CD pipelines.
• Set up and own sandbox environments for incubation and development.
• Maintain organization and communication with engineering peers and leadership.
• Apply problem solving and teamwork to support team goals.
