RTX, Collins Aerospace division, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Cedar Rapids, IA, to design, develop, and deploy modern full-stack solutions. You will build scalable frontend interfaces and robust backend capabilities while collaborating with internal users for UI/UX feedback.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, CI/CD optimization, and sandbox setup for incubation. Onsite work with relocation support may be available for qualified candidates in Cedar Rapids.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with software engineering lifecycle to include all phases of certification.
• Experience with one or more web frontend development frameworks: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Vue, Angular, Next, Nuxt.
• Experience with one or more API development frameworks: Node.JS/Express, Python/Flask/FastAPI, Java/Sprint

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of new frontend user interfaces.
• Enhance and update existing frontend user interfaces.
• Partner with internal users to gather UI/UX feedback to drive continuous improvement and refinement of solutions.
• Lead the design and implementation of new backend capabilities.
• Optimize existing backend capabilities.
• Optimize existing CI/CD pipeline capabilities.
• Set-up and own sandbox environments for technology incubation and development.
• Use organizational skills to keep track of everything.
• Communicate progress to engineering peers, leadership and customers.
