Job summary

Abacus Insights is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering for DevOps, Infrastructure, and Release Engineering to lead the end-to-end release lifecycle of our SaaS platform. You will balance senior leadership with hands-on oversight of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and observability while partnering with Product, QE, Security and Operations to minimize release friction and maximize value.

Qualifications

8+ years in software engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
5+ years managing engineering managers and/or senior technical teams.
Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for SaaS platforms.
Strong experience with AWS (primary), Azure, and GCP.

Responsibilities

Own the release engineering strategy for a SaaS platform supporting frequent, reliable deployments.
Design and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines with trunk-based or hybrid branching, automated testing gates, and progressive delivery.
Establish deployment standards, change classification, and risk levels across teams.
Reduce release toil through automation and observability integration into CI/CD and release workflows.
Drive improvements in deployment frequency, change failure rate, and MTTR (DORA metrics).
Provide technical leadership across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments and enforce security and compliance best practices.
