Job summary

Ryan is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to design and implement a fully automated CI/CD ecosystem across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments. This role blends software development with cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering to help teams ship faster and more reliably.

The position involves building an Internal Developer Portal, automating pipelines for Java, .NET, and Node.js, and driving scalable cloud architectures with Terraform. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Experience evolving from software development to cloud infrastructure and automation.
• 6+ years with CI/CD tools and modern delivery practices.
• Deep Java and/or Node.js development experience.
• Hands-on AWS/Azure, including networking and serverless.
• Terraform and IaC expertise.
• Design of scalable cloud-native architectures.
• SQL Server knowledge and Windows Server basics.
• Scripting abilities in Python/PowerShell/Bash.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• DevSecOps mindset with secure delivery practices.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Proven ability to lead evaluations for new tooling and processes.
• Collaborative cross-functional communication and documentation focus.

Responsibilities

• Champion a DevOps culture with automation, collaboration, and transparency.
• Partner with development teams to improve reliability, performance, and deployment.
• Architect and implement an Internal Developer Portal (IDP) for self-service infra.
• Enable golden paths to accelerate onboarding and reduce cognitive load.
• Integrate IDP with CI/CD, cloud infra, identity, and observability.
• Maintain service catalogs and documentation standards.
• Improve developer experience with platform enhancements.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD for Java, .NET, Node.js apps.
• Create deployment workflows across AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Implement automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates.
• Develop reusable pipeline templates and shared libraries.
• Optimize build/deploy performance, reliability, and observability.
• Design and manage cloud infra in AWS/Azure with Terraform IaC.
• Build reusable Terraform modules; enforce governance via policy-as-code.
• Establish secure, scalable networking and cloud-native patterns.
• Ensure high availability, DR readiness.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for infra and apps.
• Apply DevSecOps practices and vulnerability scanning.
• Lead proofs of concept for new tools and automation processes.
• Collaborate across engineering, security, and operations teams.
