Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team in Columbia, MD. The role centers on building and automating cloud and edge infrastructure with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and Ansible, delivering scalable services and high availability.

A TS/SCI clearance is required; a sign-on bonus of $20K is offered. The ideal candidate has deep Linux, scripting in Python/Bash, and experience mentoring teams while driving CI/CD excellence in a security-conscious

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI poly U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 9+ years DevOps or software development experience with Bachelor's; or 7 years with Masters; or 13 years with HS diploma.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and deployment/management.
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible for configuration management.
• Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, management.
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and CI/CD tools.
• Proficient Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience as tech lead/mentoring or manager for engineering teams.
• Compliance certifications (e.g., DoD 8140/8570, Security+) required.
• Willingness to open/close workspace during business hours.

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Support non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure for on-premise and portable equipment.
• Automate deployment processes to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Improve processes to ensure high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and trends.
• Mentor and lead engineering teams as a senior contributor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
