Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer focused on DevOps and infrastructure. The role requires building automation, owning CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring efficient code delivery in a lab-focused environment at the Sterling, VA site.

Strong experience with CI/CD tools, automation frameworks, and virtualization is essential. Collaboration across teams and adherence to security standards are key to success in this onsite role.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD Pipelines.
• Experience with GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Coverity, Nexus, Artifactory, and Splunk.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc.
• Experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Experience with VMware/Proxmox or similar virtualization.
• Experience with CI/CD for real-time testing in virtual environments.
• Fundamental networking (TCP/IP, VLANs).

Responsibilities

• Support and develop automation solutions to build and deploy code efficiently.
• Own the program’s CI/CD pipeline and optimize integration and delivery of the simulation environment.
• Troubleshoot build chain or CI/CD pipeline tools.
• Identify and automate manual processes; contribute to automated testing in CI/CD.
• Consider the entire CI/CD infrastructure when making changes.
