Position Overview
Senior Platform Engineer – responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and integrating infrastructure platforms that support software and mission capabilities across a large defense program. This role will leverage DevOps/DevSecOps tools, container orchestration, automation, and secure infrastructure practices to accelerate build, test, and deployment cycles.
Location
Onsite at the RTX Facility in Aurora, Colorado. All work will be performed on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the transition of a system that is tightly coupled to the underlying infrastructure.
- Assist with architecture, design, development, integration, and support of build, integration & test, and deployment pipelines.
- Leverage company and industry best practices to improve scalability, consistency, and infrastructure efficiency; reduce deployment time and automate configuration management.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and other agile development teams to design and implement robust platform solutions.
- Integrate security and compliance into the platform using services such as encryption and access management.
- Provide operational support for the platform.
- Maintain and improve the computer/network/storage infrastructure, modernizing the program platform’s overarching design through emerging technologies, DevOps, and automation.
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, or another STEM field.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, or Go.
- Experience with Red Hat Linux.
- Active and current TS/SCI or CI Polygraphed security clearance required on day 1.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements (Security + CE or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab.
- Experience troubleshooting applications and infrastructure services on Linux-based operating systems.
- Experience with automation frameworks: Terraform, Ansible, Chef.
- Experience developing, testing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework.
- Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration.

- Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
