Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Configuration Management professional to lead modernization of legacy build and release processes. You will migrate from PVCS/ANT to GitHub-based workflows, build robust CI/CD pipelines, and implement enterprise DevSecOps practices across platforms.

You will automate using Python, Shell, PowerShell, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard apps into GitHub, SonarQube, and governance frameworks, while enhancing packaging and deployment standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related or relevant field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Configuration Management.
• 5+ years in GitHub, CI/CD, Artifactory, build and release engineering, and enterprise software modernization.
• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux (csh, bash, Python) and Windows (Batch, CMD, PowerShell) automation.
• Knowledge and experience with C, C++, and/or Java.
• Experience with ANT, Make, MSBuild, Maven, and application packaging.
• DevSecOps experience and knowledge of modern deployment architectures.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and stored procedures.
• Strong coding, design, and debugging skills.
• Experience responding to and troubleshooting production issues promptly.
• Experience delivering projects in a fast-paced approach.
• Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
• Application issue diagnosis skills.
• Strong understanding of SDLC processes and Agile/Scrum project methodologies.
• Experience with micro-services and component-based architectures is a plus.
• Knowledge of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of legacy development, build, and release processes from PVCS, ANT, and manual deployment models to GitHub-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated release workflows.
• Design and implement software delivery solutions using GitHub Actions, Artifactory-driven promotion strategies, DevSecOps controls, and standardized deployment frameworks
• Analyze, reverse engineer, and document legacy applications and build processes for modernization, migration planning, technical debt reduction, and maintainability
• Develop automation using Python, Shell, PowerShell, and related technologies
• Partner with development, infrastructure, security, architecture, and operations teams to onboard applications into enterprise GitHub, SonarQube, DevSecOps, and governance frameworks
• Modernize application packaging, deployment, and environment promotion using artifact-driven release management and version-controlled deployment standards
• Support migration of legacy user interfaces and applications to modern architectures, including React-based web applications, API enablement, and container-ready deployment models
• Promote software quality through automated testing, release validation, code review, security scanning, and continuous improvement
• Assist with development tool upgrades, secrets management improvements, DevSecOps integration, and application platform transformation
• Respond to and troubleshoot production issues as needed
