Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Configuration Management professional to lead modernization of legacy build and release processes. You will migrate from PVCS/ANT to GitHub-based workflows, build robust CI/CD pipelines, and implement enterprise DevSecOps practices across platforms.

You will automate using Python, Shell, PowerShell, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard apps into GitHub, SonarQube, and governance frameworks, while enhancing packaging and deployment standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related or relevant field.
7+ years of hands-on experience in Configuration Management.
5+ years in GitHub, CI/CD, Artifactory, build and release engineering, and enterprise software modernization.
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux (csh, bash, Python) and Windows (Batch, CMD, PowerShell) automation.
Knowledge and experience with C, C++, and/or Java.
Experience with ANT, Make, MSBuild, Maven, and application packaging.
DevSecOps experience and knowledge of modern deployment architectures.
Experience with relational databases, SQL, and stored procedures.
Strong coding, design, and debugging skills.
Experience responding to and troubleshooting production issues promptly.
Experience delivering projects in a fast-paced approach.
Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
Application issue diagnosis skills.
Strong understanding of SDLC processes and Agile/Scrum project methodologies.
Experience with micro-services and component-based architectures is a plus.
Knowledge of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead modernization of legacy development, build, and release processes from PVCS, ANT, and manual deployment models to GitHub-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated release workflows.
Design and implement software delivery solutions using GitHub Actions, Artifactory-driven promotion strategies, DevSecOps controls, and standardized deployment frameworks
Analyze, reverse engineer, and document legacy applications and build processes for modernization, migration planning, technical debt reduction, and maintainability
Develop automation using Python, Shell, PowerShell, and related technologies
Partner with development, infrastructure, security, architecture, and operations teams to onboard applications into enterprise GitHub, SonarQube, DevSecOps, and governance frameworks
Modernize application packaging, deployment, and environment promotion using artifact-driven release management and version-controlled deployment standards
Support migration of legacy user interfaces and applications to modern architectures, including React-based web applications, API enablement, and container-ready deployment models
Promote software quality through automated testing, release validation, code review, security scanning, and continuous improvement
Assist with development tool upgrades, secrets management improvements, DevSecOps integration, and application platform transformation
Respond to and troubleshoot production issues as needed
