Job summary

Jobtailor in Irvine, CA seeks a senior Configuration Management/DevOps engineer to lead modernization of legacy build and release processes, moving to GitHub-based CI/CD and automated workflows.

You will design delivery solutions, automate with Python and shell, collaborate across teams, and promote software quality through testing, code reviews, and security scanning. Hybrid work with onsite preference in Irvine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related or relevant field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Configuration Management.
• 5+ years in GitHub, CI/CD, Artifactory, build and release engineering, and enterprise software modernization.
• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux (csh, bash, Python) and Windows automation.
• Knowledge of C, C++, and/or Java.
• Experience with ANT, Make, MSBuild, Maven, and application packaging.
• DevSecOps experience and modern deployment architectures.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and stored procedures.
• Experience with Agile project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of legacy development, build, and release processes to GitHub-based CI/CD and automated release workflows.
• Design and implement modern software delivery solutions with GitHub Actions and Artifactory-driven promotions.
• Analyze and document legacy applications for migration planning and debt reduction.
• Develop automation solutions using Python, Shell, PowerShell.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard applications into governance frameworks.
• Modernize packaging, deployment, and environment promotion with version-controlled standards.
• Support migration of legacy UIs to React-based architectures and container-ready deployments.
• Promote software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and security scanning.
• Assist with tool upgrades, secrets management, and DevSecOps integration.
• Diagnose production issues and troubleshoot promptly.
