Job summary

State Street Finance IT is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to drive modernization of PVCS/ANT to GitHub CI/CD pipelines and Artifactory deployments in Irvine, CA. You will automate builds, promote environments, and support monolithic C, C++, and Java portfolios through modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related or relevant field.
• 7+ years hands-on Configuration Management experience.
• 5+ years in GitHub, CI/CD, Artifactory, build and release engineering, and enterprise software modernization.
• Proficient in UNIX/Linux (csh, bash, Python) and Windows automation (Batch, CMD, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of C, C++, and/or Java; experience with ANT, Make, MSBuild, Maven, packaging.
• DevSecOps experience and modern deployment architectures.
• Experience with SQL/Stored procedures; microservices and component-based architectures are a plus.
• Strong coding, design & debugging skills
• Respond to and troubleshoot production issues promptly
• Experience with Agile project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of legacy development, build, and release processes to GitHub-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated release workflows.
• Design and implement modern software delivery solutions including GitHub Actions and Artifactory-driven promotion strategies.
• Analyze, reverse engineer, and document legacy applications and build processes to support modernization and migration planning.
• Develop automation solutions using Python, Shell, PowerShell to eliminate manual tasks.
• Onboard applications into enterprise GitHub, SonarQube, DevSecOps and governance frameworks.
• Modernize packaging, deployment, and environment promotion with artifact-driven release management.
• Support migration of legacy UIs and apps to modern architectures including React-based apps.
• Promote software quality via automated testing, release validation, code review, security scanning.
• Assist with strategic modernization initiatives including tool upgrades, secrets management, and platform transformation.
