Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Software Engineer (SDE3) for Developer Experience and AI Platform to join the Core Platform Engineering team in McLean, VA. You will design and build self-service tools, guardrails, and language-specific paved paths to accelerate software delivery while maintaining production safety.

You’ll integrate AI agents, MCP context, RAG pipelines, and autonomous workflows to reduce toil, automate upgrades, and improve developer productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development including backend services, tooling, or platform automation.
• Proven track record with modern AI/Agentic AI tools to accelerate delivery and automate workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build self-service platforms, internal tooling, and guardrails to enable fast, safe service delivery.
• Develop language-specific paved paths with production-ready templates, libraries, and CI/CD patterns.
• Create AI-native capabilities and agentic systems to optimize developer workflows and context handling.
