Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Developer Portal team, building a self-service platform for onboarding external developers. You will work on backend APIs, data models, and the Next.js/React frontend, delivering features end-to-end with a strong emphasis on quality and AI-assisted development.

This is an early-career role designed for engineers with 0–2 years of professional experience, who value fundamentals, real-world projects, and collaboration across product and design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 0 to 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Excellent coding skills and strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, debugging.
• Fluency in at least one modern programming language (Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Go, Kotlin, C#, Ruby).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and ship Developer Portal features across the stack: backend APIs, database changes, and the frontend experiences customers use.
• Start with well-defined features and bugs, then take on larger work as you grow.
• Write clean, readable, maintainable code with strong test coverage and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineers across teams to break down problems and communicate progress.
