Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of our internal developer platform and AI-driven automation infrastructure. You will build key developer tools, multi-agent workflows, and LLM orchestration systems to empower engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate services at scale.

You will mentor engineers, set architectural standards, and partner with SRE, security, and core infrastructure to maintain a high-velocity, secure development ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years at Staff/Principal engineering scope.
• Mentor 2+ engineers; lead architecture reviews.
• Hands-on coding in Java, Python, or Go.
• Deep experience with microservices, REST, and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect AI-Augmented Developer Tools for internal platforms and CI/CD tooling.
• Design multi-agent systems and LLM orchestration for internal use.
• Develop DSLs and FSMs to model complex tasks.
• Manage state with Near Real-Time Memory and shared sessions.
• Build resilient distributed systems with Redis, Kafka, and DLQs.
• Establish AI guardrails, logging, and safety standards.
