Job summary

Aquent in the Minneapolis metro area is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to be the first point of contact for technical assistance, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operations across office and remote users.

You will install, configure, and maintain Windows 10, Microsoft 365, and related software, troubleshoot issues promptly, and collaborate with IT staff to escalate and resolve complex problems. Travel within the metro is required.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
5–7 years in desktop/IT support.
Experience with Windows-based environments and hardware.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Familiarity with VPN, TCP/IP, firewalls, and switches.
Experience with helpdesk systems and issue tracking.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance via phone, email, or in person.
Perform remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques for LAN/WAN and other systems.
Install, configure, and upgrade PC software and operating systems (Windows 10, Microsoft 365).
Maintain daily performance of computer systems and peripherals (printers, scanners, video conferencing).
Record events and resolutions in logs or ServiceNow; track inventory of equipment and spares.
Follow up with clients to ensure systems are fully functional and escalate as needed.
