Job summary

Speak is hiring a seasoned Designer to improve how design and engineering work together, starting with a world-class, agent-first design system. You’ll own the design quality, semantics, and product usefulness of the system; engineering will own the technical architecture and implementation, with close collaboration on component APIs, constraints, and adoption.

You'll build across iOS, Android, and web, focusing on product surfaces and translating components to web as surfaces expand.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in product design with design systems experience.
• Built a design system with tokens, component APIs, and governance for adoption.
• Systems thinker who prioritizes scalable design across mobile and web.
• Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with AI/agent workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Improve design engineering workflow across functions and reduce handoffs.
• Set the quality bar for components and patterns; prototype with agents when possible.
• Develop semantic layer: naming, rules, and guidance for designers, engineers, and agents.
• Drive organization-wide adoption with standards and workflows.
• Own usage documentation and QA workflows, including AI-assisted checks.
